Leadership
The St. Michael’s Board of Trustees
The Board of Trustees at St. Michael’s plays three fundamental roles:
- Ensuring that the school’s mission is delivered and is fully supported.
- Protecting and bolstering the long-term financial viability of the school.
- Hiring and supervising the work of the Board’s sole employee, the Head of School.
The Board meets throughout the school year and operates through several standing committees which include the Governance Committee, the Executive Committee, Institutional Advancement Committee, Belonging Committee, and the Finance Committee. Board members serve on one or more of these committees, which meet regularly between full Board meetings.
The Executive Committee works closely with the Head of School to address emergent challenges facing the school.
Currently, the Board consists of 15 members. Periodically, new Board members are selected based on the evolving needs of both the Board and the school, following recommendations from the Governance Committee. Families are always welcome to contact Interim Head of School, Phil Tutino, directly, with any questions about the school or about the Board.
