TASM Shakespeare Production
The Winter's Tale
July 15 – July 26
(2 weeks)
Performances: July 26 & 27 at 7:00
The Winter’s Tale is one of Shakespeare’s most captivating romances, combining fierce jealousy and imagined betrayal with comic festivals and magical reconciliation, and of course, that most famous stage direction, “exit, pursued by a bear”! Under experienced guidance, students will study the language, create the characters, and bring to life the royal courtiers and frolicking shepherds of this enthralling play.
Actors will be auditioned for their roles, and all actors will be cast. Participants will be involved in all aspects of rehearsal and full production – including training in the craft of acting, character development, stage combat, choreography, and special effects. For those actors with less experience, instruction in basic acting, character development, and theatre games are offered to develop their skills. Elements such as choreography and/or stage combat are introduced as necessary for the final production. Performances will take place the final weekend for an audience of the public, family, and friends.
