SMCDS Curriculum Guide

Greetings! Welcome to the St. Michael’s Country Day School Curriculum Guide.

The St. Michael’s Curriculum is thoughtfully designed to be comprehensive, enriching, and adaptable. Alongside the school’s efforts to cover the critical content and skills of a toddler through grade 8 school, our curriculum aims to achieve the school’s mission of developing courageous learners and caring citizens who are world ready.

This document is intended to be a high level and comprehensive overview of the curricular program across the school. If you want to get a good sense of the course of study of a St. Michael’s student, in any given grade, this is where you should look. This said, because we are focused on meeting each student where they are and aim to connect school to the lives of our students, our teachers have the autonomy to adjust the curricular program from time to time as they see fit.  We believe that this flexibility is critical to our effort to make learning engaging and be a school that prepares students for the future.

If you are a current parent and have questions, or you want to learn more about the St. Michael’s curriculum, you should reach out to your child’s teacher or their division leader.  If you are a prospective family, a great way to learn more about our school is to set up a tour.

Thanks for your interest in the St. Michael’s curriculum!

Sincerely,

Walter Landberg
Head of School
