Emergent Literacy Awareness in Prekindergarten!

To prepare our PK students for kindergarten and beyond, they engage with two programs that promote literacy awareness.

To promote handwriting automaticity and multi-sensory learning, our teachers employ Handwriting Without Tears (HWT), a research-backed curriculum, the features explicit instruction combined with guided practice to engage visual, audio, and kinesthetic learners.

As a compliment to the HWT curriculum, our teachers also employ Sounds In Motion (SIM). SIM is a kinesthetic phonemic awareness learning program that improves listening, articulation and vocabulary skills, auditory memory, phonemic awareness, and early literacy.
